Schools

Liceo Classico Dante Alighieri, Ravenna, Italy

The Liceo Classico "D. Alighieri" is the oldest school  (it was founded over 300 years ago) in Ravenna, Unesco World Heritage. There are four courses (Classical and Linguistic studies, Human and Social Sciences studies). It has a long tradition of severe studies with a strong accent on a multicultural approach, with no limits to the individual philosophical research and a special attention to the full participation and equality for women. Students (1400) are involved in many activities, in and out the school, cooperating with NGOs and public authorities. Approx. 10% of students are coming from another country (especially in linguistic courses) and their contribute is highly appreciated. Students' exchanges are for this school a reason for being, not an added value. Students speak English, French and Spanish / German. Some topics of the last projects at an European or national level: Who is a foreigner? (racism, multicultural), Cyberbullism, E-clil (clil), PNSD (innovation and ICT), Theatre in prison (inclusion), National School Day (participation and democracy, One billion rising (gender violence),  Stemettes (for the International Women’s Day encouraging girls into Stem careers)..
